James Bond - (code name: 007) is a spy for the British Secret Service. His Double 0 status was awarded for killing two targets in cold blood.
Vesper Lynd - Vesper Lynd is the personal assistant to the Head of S.(unnamed) and Bond's love interest.
Le Chiffre - The self-named Le Chiffre is the Soviet paymaster of a French trade union guilty of embezzlement and the target of Bond's mission.
Mathis - Frenchman René Mathis is the representative of the Deuxième Bureau (the Second Bureau—French military intelligence agency) who assists Bond with his mission.
Felix Leiter American Felix Leiter is a CIA agent who assists Bond at the casino in Royale-les-Eaux.
Bill - whose last name is not provided—is the Chief of Staff at the British Secret Intelligence Service. He works directly with M. and presents Head of S.'s plan to him.
Bulgarian 1 - (unnamed)  is hired to murder Bond before the baccarat game. He carries the blue camera case and dies in the explosion he believes will kill Bond.
